Travel Writing Without A Market

Whether you’re sending off an article to a magazine editor or contributing an essay to an anthology, you’re writing primarily for someone else. It’s not impossible to take a more entrepreneurial approach to your travel writing, however.

National Travel Writing Month

If you do a lot of writing about your travels, I hope you know about National Travel Writing Month. It’s sort of a spin off of National Novel Writing Month, in that it’s meant to jump start your writing. The goal is to work on getting your travel writing published, by sending out one query letter each day. National Travel Writing Month runs from April 1 to April 30.

  • I don't know too many women who can afford to take a year off and travel. That's no reason to skip on long term travel, though. Between telecommuting, work visas and networking, it's perfectly possible to pick up and move to different parts of the world on a regular basis — and work along the way.

    Most women have a passing familiarity with the au pair concept. We focus on jobs that you can be proud to put on your resume: from finding a job abroad to building a business of your own, we've got the resources you need.
