Got a Hankering to See Australia?

If the idea of driving around Australia, filming and blogging cool things sounds appealing for six weeks, you may be in luck.* The Van-Tastic contest from WorldNomads is now open. The winners for each Australian state (there’s 7 of them) get flown in from anywhere in the world, handed the keys to a van and pointed in the right direction. On top of all that, there’s $10,000 up for grabs between those seven sets of travelers, based on who creates the best videos.

You’ll be up against some pretty intense competition, of course. As soon as I talk a partner into sharing a van with me for six weeks, I’ll be sending in my application. You can do the same through the Van-Tastic website.

*That’s just about everyone, right?

  • I don't know too many women who can afford to take a year off and travel. That's no reason to skip on long term travel, though. Between telecommuting, work visas and networking, it's perfectly possible to pick up and move to different parts of the world on a regular basis — and work along the way.

Most women have a passing familiarity with the au pair concept. We focus on jobs that you can be proud to put on your resume: from finding a job abroad to building a business of your own, we've got the resources you need.
