4 Women Blogging About Travel And Work

The number of women choosing work that lets them travel wherever they want is going up. Many of these women build their own business, freelance, or choose jobs that allow them to telecommute — and quite a few are blogging about it. With just a couple of clicks, you can see how they balance work, travel and family.

  1. Location Independent Living
Lea Woodward, along with her husband Jonathan, left the U.K. in 2006. They spend a few months in a location before packing up and moving on to a new place, bringing their business and personal solutions company, Kinetiva, along with them. Lea blogs about their lifestyle on the blog, giving tips and interviewing other folks working on the go.
  2. Almost Fearless
Christine Gilbert went from working for a Fortune 500 company to freelancing in Spain, Mexico City and anywhere else she fancies. Christine has turned her freelancing career into a portable way to pay the bills — and she’s blogging about her experiences.
  3. Traveling Mamas
The Traveling Mamas are four travel writers: they travel for a living and they take their children with them. Shannon Hurst Lane, Beth Blair, Kara Williams and Jennifer Miner all write about how to balance children and travel.
  4. Just Married Chilean Style
Kyle Hepp moved to Chile with her husband and developed a wedding photography business from scratch. She blogs about the transition she’s made — as well as what she’s doing to make sure she can travel in the future.

  • I don't know too many women who can afford to take a year off and travel. That's no reason to skip on long term travel, though. Between telecommuting, work visas and networking, it's perfectly possible to pick up and move to different parts of the world on a regular basis — and work along the way.

Most women have a passing familiarity with the au pair concept. We focus on jobs that you can be proud to put on your resume: from finding a job abroad to building a business of your own, we've got the resources you need.
