Traveling With Teens? Check This Out!

I’m glad to announce that one of the wonderful women that I had the pleasure of interviewing for Working Your Way Around The World is smack dab in the middle of a book launch. Maya Frost’s book, The New Global Student: Skip the SAT, Save Thousands on Tuition, and Get a Truly International Education, launched yesterday.

Maya is really the epitome of the ideas I talk about her: she and her husband are both Americans, currently living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They have four daughters, who have all spent time in a long list of countries and have each turned their own adventures into careers of their own. Maya’s book is based on her experiences helping her daughters through high school in countries like Brazil and Chile and through the college admissions process when they didn’t have SAT scores.

If your travels include a family, especially a teenager or two, you need to read Maya’s book. The situation is just that simple: she’s already been where you’re headed.

  • I don't know too many women who can afford to take a year off and travel. That's no reason to skip on long term travel, though. Between telecommuting, work visas and networking, it's perfectly possible to pick up and move to different parts of the world on a regular basis — and work along the way.

Most women have a passing familiarity with the au pair concept. We focus on jobs that you can be proud to put on your resume: from finding a job abroad to building a business of your own, we've got the resources you need.
