While I’ve been known to go country-hopping in the past, my travel recently has been all inside the United States. That’s partially due to a fact outside of my control: my husband’s job requires some very significant office time, making it necessary to stay close to a very specific physical point. That doesn’t mean my wanderlust gets ignored, though: rather than taking some of the longer trips I’ve focused on in the past, I’ve been taking shorter trips (but more often).
There are plenty of places all over the globe that I intend to visit in the future, and even a few places where I would like to live. But for right now, I’m treating the U.S. like something of a strange country: I’m taking some time to explore different parts of the country, and taking advantage of conferences and other opportunities to see parts of the country that I wasn’t even aware existed.
How about you? Even if you’ve visited far off places, how much exploring have you done in the place you call home? I know from the numbers that a lot of my readers here are from the U.S. and Canada: I’m interested in knowing how much traveling you’ve done within these two huge countries! While I know that the occasional day trip, road trip or other travel may not feel as exciting as taking a trip across an ocean, I think that exploring home can be just as enjoyable.
