National Travel Writing Month

If you do a lot of writing about your travels, I hope you know about National Travel Writing Month. It’s sort of a spin off of National Novel Writing Month, in that it’s meant to jump start your writing. The goal is to work on getting your travel writing published, by sending out one query letter each day. National Travel Writing Month runs from April 1 to April 30.

Dedicating the month of April to getting your writing out there s the brainchild of Christine Gilbert, who also operates the site associated with it. Christine and her husband travel full-time and she works as a freelance writer.

It isn’t quite April yet, but it’s worth getting a head start on National Travel Writing Month. Go ahead and sign up at the site, and start making notes on both ideas you want to write about and markets you want to query. If this is the year you want your writing to support your traveling, use National Travel Writing Month to get into gear.

  • I don't know too many women who can afford to take a year off and travel. That's no reason to skip on long term travel, though. Between telecommuting, work visas and networking, it's perfectly possible to pick up and move to different parts of the world on a regular basis — and work along the way.

Most women have a passing familiarity with the au pair concept. We focus on jobs that you can be proud to put on your resume: from finding a job abroad to building a business of your own, we've got the resources you need.
